DIAL to provide air ambulance services to visitors during the Commonwealth Games 2010

To develop five approach roads to the airport to ease congestion

Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) has planned to provide air ambulance services to visitors during the Commonwealth Games 2010. Prior to the Games, it will also take initiative to build helipads at various city hospitals in Delhi, informed Arun Arora, Associate Vice President-Corporate Communications, DIAL. “These helipads will enable us to provide air lifting services to patients in emergency time during the Games,” Arora added.

DIAL also plans to develop existing five approach roads to both the domestic and international airport for easing traffic congestion. As of now, work has started only on three road projects, out of which two will be complete by 2010. DIAL recently appointed the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to do a feasibility study for building a tunnel road at Mahipalpur Cross close to the domestic airport.
